Real stories, real families
“The first time we saw his picture, we cried because we knew he would be ours.”
We met Aidan in a park, and the moment he recognized us from our scrapbook and said, “I knew it was you!”—we knew our dream was becoming real. In just a few months, he has filled our lives with joy, laughter, and love. He calls us “Dad” and “Daddy,” and fits right into our big, crazy family. “He brings a sense of refreshment and renewal to our already loving family, making us that much stronger.”
—The Bergmans
They have enriched our family and we are SO grateful that they have chosen us.”
In early 2017, we got a surprise call about a sibling pair—Nelson and Lauren—who needed a home fast. Just days later, they were living with us, backpacks in hand, and settling in like they’d always been here. “They were understandably hesitant, but surprisingly open and chatty.” By the very next morning, they were laughing in a pile on the bed with our son.
We finalized their adoption that July, and every day since, they’ve brought laughter, strength, and compassion into our home.
—The Ahlgren Family
“They meet their challenges and we empower them to be the boys they are meant to be.”
Adoption had been in my heart for a long time, but I thought it would be too difficult or expensive. Then God made His plans clear—we were called to foster, and we adopted our first son in 2011. Another soon followed. Though we said we wouldn’t adopt again, “God had different plans.”
Each of our boys has overcome so much. They teach us every day. “Our views on parenting, connecting and empowering children has changed our lives in the most beautiful of ways.”
